Capacity Builders was launched in 2010 by Lori Noonan who has nearly three decades establishing and transforming good nonprofits into great nonprofits. Throughout her time within the nonprofit industry, she saw a trend where there was a significant lack of leaders with a solid understanding of nonprofit industry standards.

Capacity Builders is an innovative and experienced nonprofit consulting firm that specializes in helping nonprofit organizations achieve their goals and maximize their impact. With a team of expert consultants and a proven track record of success, Capacity Builders offers a wide range of services, including strategic planning, board development, fundraising and grant-writing, marketing and communications, and organizational development.

Years of experience have shown us that it is often difficult for under-resourced organizations to build their internal infrastructure and translate impact into numbers. These challenges become a barrier to serving more people.

Oftentimes, it is the already well-funded and well-known nonprofits who receive grants because of their ability to bring in administrative and development staff or outsource services. Capacity Builders offers interim leadership and staffing support including executive director, development director, development assistant, and program support.

We want to fill that gap and help every nonprofit better plan, evaluate, fundraise and ultimately, tell the story of their impact.

Lori Noonan
President & CEO
Lori Noonan is a visionary, energetic and accomplished nonprofit executive with nearly 30 years of experience in driving organizational growth and success. She has a unique ability to build nonprofits from the ground up, keeping standards of excellence at the forefront of her strategic work and analyzing various areas of the organization to gain a clear understanding of the overall operating structure. Lori is an expert in the fundamentals that nonprofits need to succeed and is skilled at identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions to set the nonprofit up for long-term success.
Kym Johnson
Vice President of Nonprofit Services
Kym Johnson is an experienced professional with a focus on nonprofit sustainability. Her expertise includes nonprofit leadership, planning, and fund development with focus on grantsmanship. Her years as a public administration professional includes work on both sides of philanthropy – as a nonprofit development professional and as a grant-maker. Kym brings her unique experiences in both asking and giving, along with strategic thinking, sensible fiscal management, effective communication and facilitation to organizations she serves.
Ashli Clubine
Web, Graphic Design, and Social Media
Ashli Clubine has served on various nonprofit boards since 2014, including Nine Line Foundation and Fight the War Within Foundation, as well as volunteering for the Coastal Georgia YMCA Place to Dream program. She is passionate about serving the nonprofit community and assists Capacity Builders as a web, media, and design specialist.
